Friday Jam at the Rock’n Firkin

On Friday July 17, after attending the NorthPaws baseball game, I dropped by the Rock’n Firkin on the North Shore to catch a bit of their weekly jam.

It was nice to see Brendan Methot on guitar, keys and vocals, Alan Forseth on drums and bass player Kyle Larrivbe. They played a set of fun songs highlighted by “Love Potion Number Nine”.

A number of bands played it back in the 1960s and The Searchers had the biggest hit with it going all the way to Number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Brendan Methot and friends also did a nice version of Coldplay’s “Yellow.” It was fun singing along to the recognizable tunes … and thankfully nobody could hear me.

The jam happens every Friday evening, with different guest hosting each week at the Rock’n Firkin Sports Pub & Grill, 726 Sydney Ave, Kamloops.
