Monthly Bluegrass at the Legion Gets Good Crowds

Jeremy Kneeshaw, David Kneeshaw, Eric Schwalb, Tom Konopski

On Tuesday January 13 the Bunchgrass Boys played at the Kamloops Legion. A good sized crowd was on hand to watch the band play guitar, fiddle, mandolin, bass, vocals and banjo. They consist of the father and son team of David Kneeshaw and his son Jeremy. Jeremy played the banjo, mandolin and sang. David played mandolin, fiddle and sang the lead vocals,

Eric Schwalb played guitars and sang and Tom Konopski played bass and sang. They played a selection of bluegrass, gospel, country and country rock songs.

Some favourites were “Cripple Creek,” “Hallelujah I’m Ready,” “The Kamloops Rancher,” “Copperhead Road,” and “Whiskey Before Breakfast.” The knowledgeable audience showed the band lots of love with their constant applause and even clapped after some solos. The Bunchgrass Boys generally play on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the Kamloops Legion. This was their 12th show, and 12th month since they started Bluegrass at the Legion. They occasionally have guest artists, and have also hosted a special show with a Victoria band last October. The Bunchgrass Boys also play other venues around town. Jeremy Kneeshaw’s other project, Jeremy Kneeshaw and Velvet Groove Blues Band, will be playing on Sunday January 18 at the Blue Grotto. $10 cover and doors open at 8:00 PM.
