The Christmas Season Gets Off To a Jazzy Start at the London Creative

On Saturday December 21 the London Creative hosted the Alex Ward Quartet. The London Creative is a small venue in downtown Kamloops near 3rd Avenue and Victoria Street. The bar specializes in tasty, original fancy cocktails and mocktails. The talented quartet consisted of Alex Ward on piano, Kris Ruston on guitar, Jared Wilman on drums and Jared Doherty on electric bass.

The evening started off with a beautiful version of the classic Oliver Nelson song “Stolen Moments.” Other highlights were Wes Montgomery’s “Road Song,” “Autumn in New York,” and even a samba, in the form of ”One Note Samba,” a composition by Antonio Carlos Jobim and others.

But, I think many of the full house were there to get a few jazzy Christmas/seasonal tunes and the Alex Ward Quartet did not disappoint them.

They played “Christmas Time is Here, “Let it Snow,” and “Oh Christmas Tree.” The audience was delighted, the drinks were tasty and the Christmas season got off to a good start in downtown Kamloops.
