On Friday June 14 Shaw-Knee with David Kneeshaw, Jeremy Kneeshaw and Tom Konopski played some fine country and bluegrass music downtown as part of the Vibe on Victoria series. It isn’t often we get to hear talented musicians play the banjo, mandolin, fiddle, guitar and stand-up bass.

The name Shaw-Knee, is a take on the last name of the father-son duo David and Jeremy Kneeshaw. The have been performing in the region for under two years, now. David played guitar, fiddle, mandolin and most lead vocals. Jeremy played banjo and sang some vocals. Tom played the stand-up bass.

The noon hour shoppers and lunch people stopped to listen from time to time. A family with a toddler stayed longer. The child was really delighted by the music and clapped and danced a bit.

Shaw-Knee played well known tunes such as “Flop-Eared Mule,” “Foggy Mountain Breakdown,” “Wreck of the Old 97,” and “Redwing.” They even included an original called “The Ways We Go.” Shaw-Knee added a very, cool old time feel to another fun lunch hour downtown. They also played last Saturday night at Pizza Pi.
