Surrender and the Ego

Surrendering the ego is never easy. In this episode, we look at three characteristics of the ego that remain from the infant, and it is obvious then why the ego does not want to be controlled in any fashion.

Surrendering to a Higher Power, when people may have issues about what a Higher Power may be or not trust their version of a Higher Power (for instance, those who see a punishing God) seems difficult. “Letting go”, a term popularized by Dr. David R. Hawkins, sounds much easier.

Instead of surrendering (or giving up) your issues to a Higher Power, you “let go”, the equivalent of refusing to hang onto your issues.

Both achieve the same goal: lessening of the ego.
