Impermanence

As humans, we expect change but also have a preference for things to stay the same. This cannot happen.

Everything that has a beginning must have an end. Anything that arises must also subside. This holds true in death. We see birth as a beginning and death as the ending, and we fight to stave off death. We are as impermanent as everything else. We get attached to something and want to control it; effectively trying to control the end of it. We suffer when we try to stop something from changing. Something other than ourselves is in command and must be acknowledged.
