Another weekend and another good crowd out to see a great local band at the Grotto. The Blue Grotto was voted one of the 50 Best Canadian Small Music Venues and has worked hard to maintain that status. Last weekend, the Kamloops Queen of hard rock, the vivacious Angie Heinze, had her five piece band rocking the Blue Grotto. Their combination of 70s and 80s songs delighted the size-able crowd. Heinze can rock with the best of them. Of course, she has some very good musicians with her.
Scott Skulmoski handled the lead and second vocals, Brad Klenk laid a beating on the drum kit and Darren Jones showed why he is one of the most sought after bass players in town. As an added feature, Daniel Heslop’s keyboards added some great sounds to the mix.
