On December 15th the Canadian Pacific Holiday train made it’s annual stop in Kamloops to Christmas entertainment and to provide an outlet for donations to the local food bank.
Around 1,000 people stood outside, behind the Sandman Centre, in fairly, mild weather to enjoy the show. Before the train arrived, entertainment was provided by local grade school children singing Christmas carols.
Later, appearing on the train were Alan Doyle of Great Big Sea fame and his group The Beautiful Band. They did a selection of Christmas songs and ended with a Maritime/Celtic song. The Kamloops crowd enthusiastically clapped, danced, and sang along.
Then, the CP Rail Holiday Train was off to its next two stops in Savona and Ashcroft, before finally ending their busy day. Numerous cheques and food donations were given to representatives of the Kamloops Food Bank and the event appeared to be very successful.
