Pink Floyd Tribute Band Amazes Sandman Centre Crowd

Brit Floyd, billed as “The Greatest Pink Floyd Show” brought their Immersion World Tour to the Sandman Centre on Dec. 2. The band played highlights from nearly five decades of Pink Floyd releases. Meanwhile, appropriate video, containing album covers and dates was projected on a giant screen.

To say Brit Floyd is technically proficient at playing Pink Floyd’s music is an understatement. Many of the ten or more musicians and technicians performed multiple tasks to successfully get the Pink Floyd sound from any given era. They also included a superb laser light and video projection show, not unlike a Pink Floyd concert.

“If Pink Floyd won’t reunite for a tour, this is a pretty amazing substitute.”

The ecstatic Sandman Centre audience cheered, howled and sang along to their favourite Pink Floyd songs. Titles from The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon, seemed most popular. As one delighted concert-goer stated, “If Pink Floyd won’t reunite for a tour, this is a pretty amazing substitute.”

Listen to Jim and his show Jazz Notes every Wednesday 5-7 PM.
